Dustin Moon Meet-Up at the Lighting Lab

The COVID-19 pandemic has allowed us to branch out into creative areas we never expected to enter. One of those is the professional photography scene. We never considered our resources could be such powerful tools for photographers until Eddy Sound owner, Matthew Stoneback, reached out to Denver photographer Dustin Moon through Instagram. After talking back and forth over a couple weeks, a date was set and Dustin invited a handful of talented local Colorado photographers and models to join us in the lighting lab. These creatives included photographers Mitch Santos, Dre Lamar, Russel Klimas, and Bryan Board, as well as models Zola Bzdek, and Rachel Antion.

The final products of that night speak for themselves. With the help of our laser/lighting package in the background, everyone was able to create some astounding images to add to their portfolios. Even with everyone in the same space and under the same lights, the individual talent of the photographers shines through in each of their own styles. From the angles to the editing, you can see where each of their strengths lie.

With more photoshoots in the works including a number of new and returning talents, we cannot wait to see what other creative products will come out of the Eddy Sound Lighting Lab. In the meantime, check out a little about each individual we worked with that night, see some of their edited photographs, and follow any or all of their social media accounts (which we highly recommend).

Finally, since their visit, it’s been clear to us that these Colorado creatives support each other in amazing ways. As photos were posted to Instagram from that evening, the commenting and sharing was impressive to watch. It’s clear to us this community builds each other up while acting as motivation to push one another to become better at their craft. Anyone who gets to be involved with these passionate individuals should consider themselves fortunate and jump at the opportunity. Their work is outstanding, and their character is next-level.

Meet Dustin:

Dustin had been shooting professionally since the summer of 2018. His journey into photography began with shooting landscapes, and he eventually started doing portrait work with the encouragement of some of his friends who are also photographers. Professionally, he shoots portraiture, headshots, events, and commercial photography, while shooting landscapes is still a huge passion of his. Learning photography and running a small business has been a large undertaking, and he is constantly inspired by the creatives in the Denver community.

Meet Mitch:

Mitch is a photographer from Colorado Springs, Colorado. His favorite type of photography is anything people related. He loves the idea of getting to know someone and their story, while creating memories and art with them; learning about different peoples lives’ and their perspectives on certain subjects. He has been doing photography for 3 years, but heavily dove into it approximately 1.5 years ago. Fun fact, he can do a MEAN backflip.

Meet Dre:

Andre is his name but he goes by Dre, kinda like Dr. Dre except without the "Dr." He is a fun, easy going guy, with a lot of charisma and ambition all wrapped into one. One of the best things about Dre is he is always wanting to learn, whether that's in photography, studies, or just something new in general. He tries to do his best to make everyone feel calm and relaxed as they create collaboratively. He has always had a passion for creating and taking photographs of everything in his life because he believes that moments frozen in time are best viewed over and over again. He wants to capture the best memories and the best rendition of people as he views these to be the moments we’ll cherish the most. His goal is to bring out the best in people by making them feel confident throughout the session. His favorite type of photography would have to be portraits. He really loves being creative with each and every session, setting up the scene, posing, styling, etc.

Meet Russell:

Russell has been shooting photography since 2016. He thinks of himself as just a dude with a camera and is obsessed with getting the most outrageous photos in one shot. He likes to make people question what’s possible to get with a camera. This mostly has to do with light painting, but anything that isn’t done on a computer is his jam. Someday he’ll do photos professionally; it's just a matter of time.

Zola is a junior physics major at CU Boulder who recently took up modeling in the past year, and has committed to growing her creative presence online and in the Denver-area network. She started off singing and collaborating on electronic music production before taking up styling professional shoots as well as modeling. She has worked with Wilhelmina Denver as well as many fine artists and photographers in the Denver area. She loves putting together concepts and collaborating on creative projects, learning the business side of photography and marketing, as well as the importance of social media as an integrative medium. While math and science will always be her main focus, she is learning that creativity and artistic passion have an important role in all endeavors. • Bio Photo: Dustin Moon
