This time it was light painting with fire. Klimas, being the veteran light painter he is, has done previous work with fire in other settings. Enthralled by the idea, we immediately wanted to participate. Because we would be dealing with actual fire, Klimas wanted to take all of the necessary precautions to ensure the Lighting Lab was used in a safe manner. This included bringing in a model who has experience with fire and probably more than many of us would want to have. When dealing with fire, it’s always good to have a firefighter on scene.

The Eddy Sound Lighting Lab has been the setting of dozens of photo shoots over the past several months. From light painting, to glamor, to fitness, and everything in between; we’ve been able to provide a setting unlike any other in the Colorado Springs area for unique photography. One genre we have been missing from our repertoire is a pin-up styled shoot. The idea of bikini models with beautiful motorcycles, surrounded by a plethora of lasers and stage lights has a sexy, but sophisticated, look to it. This has been a curated passion project we had our eyes set on for quite some time.

“Lost in a City” is the perfect combination of beautiful melodies, clean vocals, and catchy lyrics. The collaboration between Iolite, Lost Terra, and Ruslan makes for a stand out song that will stay on your favorite playlist. The gears immediately began turning for our team the first time we heard the track and we began to visualize the perfect time coded show.

When light-painter Russel Klimas, a regular partner in the Eddy Sound Lighting Lab, mentioned to us that he knew and worked with an aerialist before, the gears immediately started turning. The idea of a graceful and beautiful aerialist under our Lighting Lab truss structure, surrounded by lights and lasers, was exactly what we were looking for.

Tigerwine was the second musical talent to film a music video in the Eddy Sound Lighting Lab; visiting the warehouse just one day after Jarrod Gipson. Introduced to us by director of photography Gabriel Jacobson from Storyteller Creative, Tigerwine is a local, post hardcore band signed to Tooth & Nail Records. Tigerwine joins the ranks of Underoath, Project 86, and Thousand Foot Krutch, all signed by Tooth & Nail Records.

The BRKN is one of the bands that has blown us away with everything they do. From the way they carry themselves, to their willingness to take risks, and their confident and charismatic attitudes both on and off the stage. The band formed approximately a year ago, with Mike Bokenkamp on drums, MJ Younkers on guitar, and Jacob Cadeon on guitar and lead vocals. Over their time together, they have transcended multiple genres and continue to find their sound in the best way possible: writing, recording, and touring.

With big inspiration comes big aspirations. After spending numerous hours designing, rigging, and flying the truss structure as well as placing all of the lighting fixtures, we knew we needed to choose a song to timecode that was worthy of our larger than life rig. “Crystallize” by Eliminate & Leah Culver was the perfect fit. With intricate sound design and beautiful vocals, we knew the track would make our rig shine.

The COVID-19 pandemic has allowed us to branch out into creative areas we never expected to enter. One of those is the professional photography scene. We never considered our resources could be such powerful tools for photographers until Eddy Sound owner, Matthew Stoneback, reached out to Denver photographer Dustin Moon through Instagram.

Klimas and Mundluru spent hours under the lighting lab structure, perfecting exposure settings while trying different light painting brushes and tools. During this time, we provided different palettes of color with our inventory of Blizzard Lighting fixtures and X-Laser Skywriter HPX lasers.

Owner Matthew Stoneback contacted Manitou Springs High School principal, Markus Moeder-Chandler, to ask if Eddy Sound could do something extraordinary for the Manitou Springs seniors. Our vision was to light the SILC administration building located directly behind the high school.
