Bikes & Bikinis: A Curated Photo Shoot

Bikes & Bikinis Cover Photo.jpg

The Eddy Sound Lighting Lab has been the setting of dozens of photo shoots over the past several months. From light painting, to glamor, to fitness, and everything in between; we’ve been able to provide a setting unlike any other in the Colorado Springs area for unique photography. One genre we have been missing from our repertoire is a pin-up styled shoot. The idea of bikini models with beautiful motorcycles, surrounded by a plethora of lasers and stage lights has a sexy, but sophisticated, look to it. This has been a curated passion project we had our eyes set on for quite some time. Although it took some time to make happen, it finally came to full fruition in late October 2020.

The idea began to take shape when Matthew Stoneback, the owner of Eddy Sound, discovered our neighbors (Pikes Peak Overhead Doors) were the owners of a beautiful custom Harley Davidson Forty-Eight, complete with white-wall wheels, ape hanger handlebars, and a murdered-out black paint job. In addition, they also had access to a Harley Davidson Softail Slim, in beautiful nebula blue and pearl white, customized with chrome body work. After finding out we had access to such gorgeous machines, Stoneback moved on setting up a “Bikes and Bikinis” styled photoshoot. With the help of Denver photographer and Lighting Lab regular Dustin Moon, we were able to secure the talent of Jayden Kunze and Michelle Smith to be the models. Both were an absolute joy to work with and the final images would not have existed without their support.

The results of the shoot were simply stunning. With both Dustin Moon and Russell Klimas taking poster-quality photos, the talent of Kunze and Smith, the American craftsmanship of Harley Davidson, and the stunning colors and effects from Blizzard Lighting and X-Laser products, the outcome was magazine cover worthy. We want to thank all of the creatives that got involved with this project. It was the perfect collaboration that we believe speaks for itself. We’re looking forward to when we can extend this idea into some more motorcycle-themed shoots in the Lighting Lab.

Michelle has been modeling for approximately 6 years. She entered the industry as an assistant for a headshot/wedding photographer and started standing in for test shots. During these sessions, she realized how much she enjoyed the work. Through modeling, she has walked in many runway shows. Notable cities she’s modeled in include Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore, Denver, and Minneapolis. You can find her work published in magazines and used online for various Amazon products. These include Top Stitch as well as the Roll & Go Hair tool. Michelle has a background in dance, with 10 years of experience in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. She attributes dance to her success in modeling; believing that her body awareness comes naturally with being a dancer. This has given her a deep understanding of posing while modeling.
